MSC BIOTEHNOLOGY
MSC BIOTECHNOLOGY
In 2007, Sree Konaseema Bhanoji Ramars Post Graduate College started the branch M.Sc Biotechnology. All the basic infrastructural facilities needed for conducting teaching and research programmes in different areas of Biotechnology have been developed in the department. Teaching faculty from all the branches of life sciences departments took part in the regular teaching and was supported well by the guest faculty invited from different universities.
Infrastructural facilities: The department is housed in a newly constructed permanent building consisting of class rooms with audio visual facilities, well equipped student laboratories, special labs for molecular biology, genetic engineering, plant tissue culture and microbial technology. Our Biotechnology departmental lab’s are equipped with modern lab facilities like separate plant tissue culture lab, Bacteriological culture lab with Laminar air flow cabinets, UV-Visible spectrophotometers, Orbital shaking incubators, PCR, Cooling high speed centrifuge, Deep freezer(-20° C), BOD incubators, Micro processor based autoclaves, & Digital Balances (0.1mg & 1.0mg accuracy),Transilluminators, Electrophoretic units(horizontal & vertical), besides the basic lab equipment and the department is supported by a Store Keeper ,two lab attender’s along with a sweeper . The students are motivated to write scientific articles and research review papers and participate in seminars and symposia. The students are well trained both theoretically and practically during their study period. The Department of Biotechnology has got collaboration with many biotech industries and research organizations.
