Sree Konaseema Bhanoji Ramars Post Graduate College came into existence in August 2010 after bifurcation of the parent S.K.B.R. College. The college was approved by Andhra University vide proceedings No. C11(5)/NoC/2009 dt 09-03-2010 and subsequently approved by the Government of Andhra Pradesh Vide Proceedings No.210/APSCHE/SECY/PG Bifurcation 01/AU-SKBR/2010-11  Dt 18-08-2010. The college is affiliated to Andhra University.

          Prior to the academic year 2010-11 the PG courses MCA, MBA, MSc(Orgchem), MSc (Biotech) were part of the parent S.K.B.R.College. after bifurcation, Dr M.V.Ramakrishna Rao became Principal of the college and continued in that position till 30-08-2014. Dr E.R.Subrahmanyam till then HoD, MSc-Organic Chemistry took over as Principal of the college on 01-05-2014.

          At present the college is having eight PG courses MCA, MBA, MSc (Orgchem), MSc (Biotech), MA (English), MA (Economics), M.Com and MHRM.

There are two doctorates one each in MSc-Organic Chemistry and Biotechnology. Mr K T Varma and Mr Ch Sai Santosh have registered themselves for Ph.D. Our Management is encouraging the staff members to take up research.

NSS Units : This year our college started two NSS unites to involve our students in nation building activities while simultaneously developing their personality. Sri K Trinadha Varma, Lecturer in Organic Chemistry and Ms M Swarna, Lecturer in English who are nominated by the Management as Programme Officers under went training at A.U from   26-02-2015 to 06-03-2015.

 

Infrastructure and learning resources : All the Departments are having excellent infrastructure. There are a total number of 150 computer systems with Internet in the MCA Department. Other Departments and the Library are also having computer systems with Internet. Free Internet access is given to staff and students in Internet Lab, Library and the other Departments. The library with as many as 7488 volumes of various titles pertaining to different subjects is an excellent learning resource for all our students. The Library subscribes to as many as 36 Journals, magazines and periodicals besides newspapers. The library works from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on all working days and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. wifi facility is also available in the library.

 

Women’s hostel : There is a women’s hostel on the campus providing board and lodging facility for the women students coming from far off places. Besides the inmates the day scholars also use the hostel for dining purpose during lunch break.

 

Seminar Hall : The Air-conditioned seminar hall in the GMC Balayogi Bolck with a seating capacity of 150 is used as a venue for seminars, workshops and meetings. Sri S.S. Venumadhav, Asst Professor is looking after the maintenance of the seminar hall facilities.

 

Games & Sports : Our students boys and girls have been exhibiting their talents in sports and games in various events conducted from time to time. In the Annual Day competitions our students participated in Cricket, Volley ball, chess, running etc., They also participated in other competitions such as essay writing, elocution and quiz.

 

Anti-ragging committee : Although ragging is unheard of in our college, an Anti-ragging committee has been constituted with Sri M.Tilak as convener for the academic year 2014-15.

Endowment prizes:

 

          Sri N.Subba Raju garu, Hon’ble President, College Governing Body has been giving a cash award of Rs.1000/- to the academic topper in MSc-Organic Chemistry.

          Pachigolla family has announced cash award of Rs.1116/- to the academic topper in MBA from this year onwards in memory of Sri Pachigolla Krupananda Rao.

          Sri P.V.Satish Kumar, General Manager (p) – surface manager has announced “Smt P.Mutyam Memorial Endowment Prize” to be given annually to the MCA academic topper out of the interest accrued on a fixed deposit of Rs.10,000/-.
